Fieldbase is amazing! We are surrounded by trees, hills and rather excitingly, baboons (not literally of course, that would be very unnerving, but we do see them). There isn’t a cloud in the sky and the weather is just perfect. However, when Raleigh said it gets cold at night, it wasn’t a cruel joke or ruse to get us to pack unnecessary fleeces and jackets. The people with the thermals will definitely be the happiest campers! The dust also plays havoc with your skin so moisturiser and Vaseline are a must! We are really looking forward to meeting the rest of the staff team and the participants really soon. Do remember to give your friends and family this blog address so that they can see updates on everything that you are doing. They can also post their own messages for you on the site.
See you soon!

can't wait for the rest of the staff to arrive tomorrow! M x
This is great reading Marianne! Can't wait to hear what it's like once the participants actually arrive - please keep it up as London is about to get colder and wetter next week, so it's good to hear from sunnier climates...
Shanna in London head office
Hi Marianne,
The blog looks fantastic and great to read about you all and the contribution you'll be making. We at head office almost feel like we're there with you! Good luck with the expedition and making it the best ever yet!
Rachel
Great to read about how it's going. Watch Fionna, she's always on the look out for body parts to dissect, so keep moving.
Blogsite is a great idea. We look forward to hearing all your news. Ali and Mollie x
